The staff at the winery works pretty hard to make sure everyone has a great time.  So I decided to reward them by treating them to a Picnic in our vineyard.  It was a good thing I only brought a case of wine with us or some of the staff would still be up there.

A Contractor was at the Winery yesterday and asked "Where do you get your flavors from?"  Now at first blush a winemaker might respond from the soil, the Sun and the weather.  But then I realized this fellow was being quite literal.  He thought that flavors were something you purchased and put into the wine like a margarita mix.

The 2009 Vintage is now in the tanks and it's time to be introspective and take a look back at what we've done over the past year to make better wine, to reach for the "Holy Grail" of a fine Hudson Valley wine
